About Me
- Name: Shira Salamone
Once upon a time, I belonged to a left-wing egalitarian Conservative synagogue, where I was one of a number of women who wore a tallit—and one of the few members who used an Orthodox prayer book (adding the Mothers, of course). Having moved since then, I now belong to a right-wing traditional Conservative synagogue, where I’m almost always the only woman wearing a tallit—and one of the few members who adds the Mothers. I seem destined to be forever . . . on the fringe.

Sorry, just a little further.
One more, to be sure.
This is another of my (in)famous "hidden posts," in which I hide the actual post in the comments so as to preserve what little is left of my anonymity as a blogger at the office.
You might want to start by reading this.
Long story short: My boss has assigned me to work with another higher-up from my organization in updating an old document. But this individual has no record of the completed document on his/her computer, and planned to search through boxes of old floppies to see whether such a record could be found.
Secretary to the rescue: I found a copy of that old document on my home computer, dating back roughly five years, to the days when I was still a temp for my current employer, not yet having been hired as a full-time permanent employee. I find it interesting that a mere secretary has a copy of the document, but the head of that division does not. As I was saying, sometimes the bosses know *what* needs to be done, but they have no idea *how.* How could it not have occurred to this person to save a copy of such a major document on her/his own computer, given that the rules of various regulatory agencies require such documents to be updated on a regular basis?
